Amazon S3 without code: files, temporary links and buckets

Amazon S3 without code in nana800: the block uploads, downloads and deletes files, returns temporary links and creates buckets, the containers your files live in. Besides Amazon it works with Yandex Object Storage, Cloudflare R2, MinIO and other S3-compatible storage, and needs an access key and a bucket name. Each operation costs $0.002, and your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month.

What you can do

  • Save files from previous blocks to a bucket as text, base64 or a data: link
  • Download files up to 10 MB as base64 and pass them further down the scheme
  • Create a temporary file link valid from 1 second to 7 days, 1 hour by default
  • List files filtered by the start of the path, for example reports/2026/, up to 1000 per request
  • Delete files, create buckets, delete empty buckets and list all buckets
  • Make a file public by link with the public-read right, when the storage supports file access rights (ACL)

    Action · $0.002 per run

    Eight operations: upload_file, download_file, delete_file, list_files, get_file_url, create_bucket, delete_bucket and list_buckets. The storage is picked from a list: aws, yandex_object_storage, cloudflare_r2, minio or custom_url.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Create an access key

In Amazon, create an access key (Access Key ID and Secret Access Key) with rights to the bucket you need. In Yandex Cloud the key belongs to a service account under static access keys, in Cloudflare R2 it is under Manage API tokens. The secret part is shown only once, so save it.

  2. 2

Add the AWS S3 Request block

Create a scheme, add the button trigger and the AWS S3 Request block. Pick your storage in the storage field. For Amazon, set the region, for example eu-central-1. For Yandex the address and region are filled in for you, for R2 and MinIO enter the storage address.

  3. 3

Add the keys and check access

Fill in Access Key ID, Secret Access Key and the bucket name. For the first test choose the list_files operation, turn the scheme on and press the button trigger: the block shows which files are already in the bucket.

  4. 4

    Set up the upload

Choose upload_file. Put a path such as reports/2026/january.pdf into the file path field and text or base64 from a previous block into the file content field. For an image or a PDF in base64, set the file type, for example application/pdf, or choose the base64 format.

  5. 5

Test the upload and keep the scheme on

Press the button and open the block result. On failure success is false, and error_message holds the reason from the storage, for example that the bucket does not exist. When everything works, add a working trigger and keep the scheme on.

Frequently asked questions

Each block operation costs $0.002: an upload, a download, a file list or a link. An enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour. Your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month, no card needed. A scheme kept on around the clock for a month spends most of that on scheme hours. File storage itself is paid to your storage provider at its own rates.

Yes. The storage field offers aws, yandex_object_storage, cloudflare_r2, minio and custom_url for any other S3-compatible storage. The server must be reachable from the internet: the block refuses private network addresses and localhost.

The download_file operation returns a file up to 10 MB as base64 in the data field. For larger files use get_file_url: the block returns a temporary link to download the file straight from the storage.

No, this block takes the file content as text, base64 or a data: link and does not download files from web addresses. The Google Drive and Yandex Disk blocks can save files from a regular link.

There are two ways. Create a temporary link with get_file_url, valid from 1 second to 7 days. Or upload the file with the public-read right when the storage supports ACL: Cloudflare R2 and buckets with ACL turned off do not accept it.

Open the error_message field: it holds the code and text of the storage error, such as NoSuchBucket when there is no bucket with that name. Common causes: a wrong region, a key without rights for the operation, or deleting a bucket that still has files.
