Discord bot without code: alerts to a server channel

A Discord bot without code in nana800 is the Discord Request block: it posts as your bot to a server channel and builds the text from scheme data. You need a bot token from the Discord Developer Portal and a channel ID, and no server for the bot. Each block run costs $0.002, and your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month.

What you can do

  • Post website leads, orders and events from other services connected to the scheme to a Discord channel
  • Publish news and announcements for server members on a schedule
  • Tell your team about failures found by other blocks of the scheme, for example a scheduled website check
  • Build the message from scheme data: customer name, order total, an AI answer
  • Read channel data by its ID, such as the channel name, and pass it further down the scheme

Blocks in the builder

  • Discord request

    Action · $0.002 per run

Two operations: send_message posts text as the bot to a channel by its ID, get_channel returns channel data. The Discord answer is in data, and if Discord refuses, the reason is in error_message.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Create a Discord bot

Open the Discord Developer Portal, create an application and copy the bot token in the Bot section. The token is the key nana800 uses to post as your bot, so keep it private.

  2. 2

Add the bot to your server

In the OAuth2 section of the same application build an invite link for the bot with the permission to send messages, open it and pick your server. The bot has to see the channel and be allowed to post there.

  3. 3

    Find the channel ID

Turn on Developer Mode in the Discord settings. Then right-click the channel and choose Copy Channel ID. A channel ID is a long number.

  4. 4

Set up the Discord Request block

Create a scheme, add a trigger (button for tests or webhook for website leads) and the Discord Request block. Pick the send_message operation, paste the token into the bot token field, the channel ID into the channel field and write the message. The text can include data from the trigger.

  5. 5

Turn the scheme on and test it

Turn the scheme on, press the button in the button trigger and check the channel. If nothing arrived, open the block result: the error_message field holds the answer from Discord. Once it works, keep the scheme on. While it is on, it costs $0.0042 per hour.

Frequently asked questions

One message costs $0.002. The button trigger for tests is free, and a webhook start costs the same as a basic block: $1 per 1,000 runs. An enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour. Your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month, no card needed. A scheme kept on around the clock for a month spends most of that on scheme hours.

In the Discord Developer Portal: open your application, then the Bot section. If you lost the token, reset it there and paste the new one into the bot token field of the block.

Check three things: the bot was added to the server, it may post in this channel, and the channel field holds the number from Copy Channel ID, not the channel name. The error_message field of the block result shows the exact reason.

No. The block only sends messages and reads channel data. nana800 has no trigger for new Discord messages. Schemes start from other events: a lead sent to a webhook, a schedule, a new email, a message to a Telegram bot.

No. The block is set up with fields in the browser: operation, token, channel ID and text. You do not need to host the bot on your own server.
