Facebook Graph API without code: Page posts and Page data

The Facebook Graph API works without code in nana800 through the Facebook Graph API block: it publishes posts on a Page, reads profile and Page data, gets insights and deletes posts. You only need an access token, and the request is built from fields: method, object ID, edge and parameters. Each request costs $0.002, and your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month.

What you can do

  • Publish posts on a Facebook Page, for example a blog news item or a text written by AI
  • Read Page or profile data: name, fan count and other fields
  • Get Page and post insights through the insights edge
  • List your Pages with their IDs through the accounts edge
  • Delete posts with a DELETE request by post ID
  • Make other Graph API requests with GET, POST and DELETE, including requests to an ad account

Blocks in the builder

  • Facebook Graph API request

    Action · $0.002 per run

Sends a Graph API request with your token: GET, POST or DELETE, object ID, edge, fields and parameters. The Facebook answer goes to the block result, and if Facebook refuses, the reason is in error_message.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Get an access token

The access token is the key nana800 uses to work with your Page. Open the Graph API Explorer and pick your app. Add permissions such as pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement and pages_manage_posts, then click Generate Access Token.

  2. 2

    Make a permanent token

A token from the Graph API Explorer lives about an hour, which is enough for a test. For everyday work create a Page token or a system user token: Business Settings - System Users - Generate Token.

  3. 3

Create a scheme and a trigger

Create a scheme in the builder. For blog news use the RSS feed new item trigger, for posts on a schedule, for example every day at 10:00, the time internal trigger, and for the first test the button trigger that starts the scheme by hand.

  4. 4

    Build the publishing request

Add the Facebook Graph API block, paste the token and pick POST. Put the Page ID into the object ID field, feed into the edge field, and add message with the post text to the body parameters. To read data, pick GET and list the fields you need, separated by commas.

  5. 5

Turn the scheme on and test it

Turn the scheme on and press the button in the button trigger. On success the Facebook answer, such as the new post ID, is in the block result, and on failure the reason is in the error_message field. Once it works, keep the scheme on. While it is on, it costs $0.0042 per hour.

Frequently asked questions

One Graph API request costs $0.002. An enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour. Your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month, no card needed. A scheme kept on around the clock for a month spends most of that on scheme hours.

Make a GET request with me as the object ID and accounts as the edge. Facebook returns the list of your Pages with their names and IDs.

A token from the Graph API Explorer lives about an hour. Schemes that run all the time need a Page token or a system user token from Business Settings - System Users.

Usually pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement and pages_manage_posts. If a permission is missing, Facebook refuses the request and the reason appears in the error_message field of the block result.

No, but you need to know which request you are making. A Page post takes four fields: the POST method, the Page ID, the feed edge and a message parameter with the text.
