SMS notifications to customers without code

SMS notifications in nana800 are sent by the send sms message block: set the number and the text and connect the block to a website lead, an order or a schedule. You do not need an account with an SMS provider, because messages go through SMSC, the SMS service nana800 is connected to. Every SMS sent costs $0.08 per number and is paid from your nana800 balance.

Blocks in the builder

  • send sms message

    Action · $0.08 per run

Sends an SMS of up to 1000 characters to one or several numbers through the SMSC service. Returns success_sent, whether the message went out, and error_text with the reason if it did not.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Create a scheme and a trigger

Create a scheme in the builder and add a trigger that knows the phone number of the customer, for example a webhook that your website form posts to. For a first test the button trigger is enough.

  2. 2

    Add the SMS block

Add the send sms message block. In the Recipient phone field enter a number in international format, for example +79991234567, or take the number from the request. Separate several numbers with commas.

  3. 3

    Write the message

Write the message in the Message text field and insert data from the trigger: name, order number, booking time. Keep it short: long text goes out in several parts, and a very long message may be refused because of its price.

  4. 4

    Test on your own number

Put in your own number for now, turn the scheme on and press the button of the button trigger. Open the block result: success_sent is true if the SMS went out, and error_text explains why if not. Only sent messages are charged.

  5. 5

    Keep the scheme on

Put the number from the request back and keep the scheme on. Every new request now sends an SMS. While the scheme is on, it costs $0.0042 per hour.

Frequently asked questions

One SMS costs $0.08 per recipient number and is charged only if the message went out. An enabled scheme also costs $0.0042 per hour. Your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month, no card needed. A scheme kept on around the clock for a month spends most of that on scheme hours.

No. The block sends SMS through SMSC on the nana800 account, so you need no keys, no contract and no separate top-ups with an SMS provider. You pay only from your nana800 balance.

Numbers where sending costs less than the block price. Before sending, the block asks the SMS service for the price, and if it is higher, the message is not sent and the block returns an error. This happens with some foreign numbers and some CIS numbers, and with very long multi-part text.

Yes, list the numbers separated by commas in the Recipient phone field. Each number gets its own message, and each number is charged $0.08.

The send sms message block needs no accounts of yours: messages go through SMSC and you pay from your nana800 balance. The Twilio block works through your own Twilio account and number, can also send WhatsApp messages and place calls, and Twilio bills you for the messages.

Add the webhook trigger to the scheme and set your website form to post its data to the webhook address. Put the phone and name from the request into the fields of the send sms message block. The scheme itself needs no code.
