How to set it up

    Get an OpenAI key

    In your OpenAI account open API keys, click Create new secret key and copy the key that starts with sk-... The OpenAI account needs a positive balance: you pay OpenAI for tokens, nana800 does not resell them.

    Add the webhook

    A webhook is an address your site sends data to. Create a scheme in the builder and add the webhook trigger. Set method to POST and path to something like /ask. Whatever your site sends lands in the request body, and parameters after the ? sign land in query.

    Set up the OpenAI block

    Add the Open AI request block in TEXT_COMPLETION mode and paste the key. The default model fits most tasks. Put the question from the webhook body into the prompt field, and use the system instruction field for the role and tone, for example "answer briefly, like a shop assistant".

    Send the answer back

    Add the webhook response block. Put text_response of the OpenAI block into body raw and keep status OK. If you chose the json_object response format, return the ready json_response object through body json.

    Turn the scheme on and send a test request

    A webhook answers only while its scheme is on. Click the API button in the builder, open the Try it tab, put a JSON body with a question and click Send. The request really runs the scheme and the model answer shows up below. An enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour.

Yes, the block works only with your key that starts with sk-... You create it under API keys in your OpenAI account. If the key is wrong or the OpenAI balance is empty, the success field of the block is false and the reason is in error_text. Such a failed run is not charged by nana800.

Up to 120 seconds. If the scheme does not reach the response block in that time, the caller gets status 200 with a short default answer. Models that think before answering are slower, so pick a fast model from the list when speed matters.

Yes. Choose json_object in the response format field and list the fields you need in the prompt. The parsed object lands in json_response: return it whole through body json or use single values in the next blocks.

Anyone who knows the address, and every call spends your balance. Send a secret header with each request and check it with the condition block before the OpenAI block, so the scheme stops when the header does not match.

Yes. Put the address of a proxy service with the same request format as OpenAI into the API address field. When the field is empty, requests go straight to OpenAI. Addresses of internal networks are not accepted.
