Telegram chat bot from a ready template: receives messages and replies

The nana800 Telegram chat bot template receives customer messages and replies right away: it thanks the sender, repeats the text and links to any photos, and adds a sticker. All you need is a bot token from @BotFather pasted into two blocks, with no code and no server. A message with a reply costs two runs of a basic block, and 1,000 such runs cost $1.

Chain of blocks

  1. 1

    Trigger

A button to run the chain by hand. There is no message from a person in that case and nobody to reply to, so test the bot with a real Telegram message.

  2. 2

Trigger · Message to bot (trigger)

The trigger catches messages people send to the bot and presses of buttons under its messages. It passes on the text, chat_id to reply to, the sender and links to photos and files. Paste your bot token here.

  3. 3

    Action · Custom script

A short JavaScript script joins the message text and photo links into one line for the reply. You can rewrite it: pull out an order number, check for keywords, prepare data for a sheet. The block is free.

  4. 4

    Action · Send Telegram message

The bot replies in the same chat: chat_id from the trigger is already filled in. The template reply thanks the sender, repeats the request and is followed by a sticker. Paste the bot token here too.

What it is good for

  • An auto reply to customers: "Thanks, we got your request, a manager will answer soon"
  • Photos and documents from customers: the bot receives files up to 20 MB, and a second send block can forward their links to a manager
  • A base for an AI bot: put a YandexGPT, ChatGPT or Claude block between the trigger and the reply
  • Collecting requests in a sheet: add a Google Sheets record block before the reply
  • A bot with a menu: buttons under the message and different replies through the condition block

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Create a bot with @BotFather

Send /newbot to @BotFather in Telegram, pick a name and a username and copy the token that looks like 123456789:AAH... The token is the key nana800 uses to receive messages of the bot and reply on its behalf.

  2. 2

Open the template and paste the token

In the builder open Ready templates, pick Telegram Chat Bot Minimal and press Use. In the Telegram message from user to bot block replace the placeholder in the token field with your token.

  3. 3

    Set up the reply

Paste the same token into the Telegram message send block. Leave the chat ID field as it is: it already holds chat_id from the trigger, so the bot answers whoever wrote. Rewrite the reply text in your own words, and replace the sticker with yours or clear the sticker ID field.

  4. 4

Turn the scheme on and message the bot

Turn the scheme on in its settings, open your bot in Telegram, press Start and send a message. The bot replies with text and a sticker, and Run history shows what each block did.

  5. 5

Extend the bot for your task

Add the blocks you need between the script and the reply: YandexGPT to answer in its own words, a record in a sheet or CRM, a second message to a manager. While the scheme is on, it costs $0.0042 per hour.

Frequently asked questions

One message with a reply is two runs of a basic block: the trigger and the reply. 1,000 runs cost $1, and the script is free. An enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour. Your balance is topped up to $3.50 for free every month, no card needed. A bot kept on around the clock for a month spends most of that on scheme hours.

From @BotFather in Telegram: send /newbot, then choose a name and a username. The reply contains a token like 123456789:AAH... Paste it into the token field of both Telegram blocks.

Check that the scheme is on and the token is in both blocks. The bot gets no messages if it is also connected to another service that reads its messages, so create a separate bot for nana800. If the message arrived but there is no reply, open Run history: it shows which block stopped the scheme and why.

No, the template works as it is. You only touch the script if you want to parse messages your own way. It runs in a closed sandbox with no internet access and must finish within 5 seconds. Calls to other services go through the separate request block.

Yes. Add the Yandex GPT text request block before the reply, pass it the message text and put result_text into the reply. YandexGPT works without your own key, while ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini connect with your key.

Yes, the bot receives photos, videos, voice messages and documents up to 20 MB: nana800 copies them to its storage and passes the links down the scheme. In the template the script adds photo links to the reply, and you can pass other files to your own blocks.
