Website uptime check: a template with Telegram alerts
The nana800 website uptime template opens your address on a schedule and sends you a Telegram message if the site returns an error or does not answer at all. You only need the website address and a Telegram bot token, with no server and no code. Each check costs two runs of a basic block at $1 per 1,000, and an enabled scheme costs $0.0042 per hour.

Chain of blocks
- 1
Trigger
The button runs the check by hand without waiting for the schedule. It works while the scheme is on and costs nothing.
- 2
Trigger · Repeating timer
The time internal timer runs the check on a schedule. In the template it fires once an hour, at the start of the hour. You can switch to every minute or a set time of day.
- 3
Action · HTTP request
The request block opens your address and returns the response code (status) and the error text. The address is empty in the template, so enter it with https://. The block waits up to 60 seconds for an answer.
- 4
Action
The condition block compares the response code with 200 and decides whether to send a message. If the site does not answer at all, the code is 0. The block is free.
- 5
Action · Send Telegram message
The bot sends you a message about the problem. Enter the bot token, chat ID and text, for example "The website is down", and add the response code from the request block.
What it is good for
- Checking that a website or online store opens, once an hour or every minute
- Watching your own API or server through a health check address such as /health
- Watching a payment page, lead form or customer account page where every minute of downtime costs money
- Websites of your clients: one scheme per site and alerts to a shared team group
- Checking that a page contains a given word: a second rule in the condition with the INCLUDES operator on the response text
How to set it up
- 1
Open the template
In the builder open Ready templates, pick Health checker and press Use. The button, timer, request, condition and Telegram message are already in the scheme.
- 2
Enter the website address
In the request block enter the full address with https:// and keep the GET method. For a private API add a header such as Authorization. The site must be reachable from the internet: internal addresses like localhost and 192.168.x.x cannot be checked.
- 3
Check the condition exit
The condition block has two exits: the check mark when the code equals 200 and the cross when it does not. The Telegram message send block must hang on the cross exit. If it is connected to the check mark in your scheme, drag the link to the cross, otherwise the bot writes when the site works.
- 4
Write the alert text
In the Telegram message send block paste the bot token from @BotFather and the chat ID from @getmyid_bot. The message text field is empty in the template, and the bot sends nothing without text: write, for example, "The website is down" and add status and error_message from the request block.
- 5
Pick the frequency and turn it on
Put an asterisk into the minute field of the timer for a check every minute. Turn the scheme on, enter an address that does not exist into the request for a moment and press the button: the bot should message you. Put the real address back. While the scheme is on, it costs $0.0042 per hour.
